Room 5 – on the south side at the far west end of the church’s lowest level
To be eligible to attend Channing’s Children programming, children must be three by Sept. 1, 2010, fully toilet trained and not yet in Kindergarten. The multi-age format was designed to accommodate children who are five, but having a growth year before kindergarten.
CHANNING’S CHILDREN is a three-year rotation of stories and play centered around our church’s theme-based ministry that help them make friends and develop an understanding of our faith community. Most Sundays, Channing’s Children attend a brief chapel service from 11:15-11:35 am with the older children. Because this worship time is important and to maintain our accountability, parents and caregivers must pick up their children from the classroom either before or after the scheduled Chapel time. Only in an extreme emergency will a Board member get a child out of worship. Parents are always invited to join their children in Chapel.
Channing’s Children’s Religious Exploration time includes several components. The whole group gathers together for Circle Time for a group lesson often including a story and song. The children are then divided into two rooms, one with many dramatic play activities and the other with arts and exploration activities.. Weather permitting, our children play outside, on the secured South playground.

*The first Sunday of each month, Channing’s Children will attend the Story for All Ages in the Sanctuary at approximately 11:55 then return to their classroom with their teachers. There will be no Children’s Chapel on these Sundays.
Parents of the Month
Parents or guardians of children in the pre-kindergarten age group are asked to assist for one month during either the first or second service. Parents should check-in with teachers on Sunday at 9:55 am or 11:15 during their chosen month. Please indicate which month and time you prefer on your child's Registration Form.
