First through fifth grades use a multidimensional approach to church school. Workshops engage different intelligences - bodily/kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, naturalist, spiritual, verbal/linguistic, logical/mathematical, and visual/spatial. Lessons are based in Bible literacy, and an exploration of our monthly themes as listed on our calendar.
The second part of programming includes age-appropriate chapel worship; arts classes taught by professional artists from the community who work with church school staff to integrate current lessons into art activities; social service projects; sex education; and Lessons of Loss.
NEW Check-in/out Policy:
For the safety and security of our children, all children 6th grade and younger must sign in and out each Sunday. Children pick up their nametags in the hallway and sign in on the clipboard. You sign children out of their classroom. A parent or guardian for children 5 and younger must be in the building at all times the child is in programming. When extenuating circumstances dictate that the parent of school-age children must be absent for all or part of a Sunday morning, that parent must check out with the Board Member on Duty or phone the Religious Education Library, 743-2805, ext. 315, and leave emergency contact information.
