All Souls Adult Choir is open to any adult interested in a rewarding choral music experience. The music ranges from classical and ecclesiastical through light popular, jazz and spirituals.
Auditions are not required and anyone interested in participating is welcome. Soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone/bass singers are needed. With rare exceptions, the choir sings an anthem and other service music each Sunday, September through June.
Sunday vocal warm-ups are at 9:30 am for the 10:00 am service and 11:00 am for the 11:30 am service. The annual Christmas and Spring concerts generally require additional rehearsal time. Child care is provided for choir functions and rehearsals.
The choir enjoys fun and fellowship at social functions throughout the year. The Fall generally features a choral workshop, frequently with a guest conductor. Members often have a chance to participate with professional instrumental and vocal musicians from the greater Tulsa area. The choir will also carry out at least one service activity during the year.
The Adult Choir Board consists of choir officers and section leaders elected by the choir members annually. The Board plans social and service activities, assists the director as needed and provides a liaison to other programs of the church.
Singing in the choir is both fun and rewarding, but it also represents a substantial commitment. The ministers and congregation look to us to provide an essential part of the worship service every Sunday during the church year, and we demand of ourselves the highest quality possible. While we all recognize that business and family obligations will make some absences inevitable, members are expected to be responsible about attendance at rehearsals, services, special events and activities.
